Top Questions

Besides relaxation, what is massage good for?

Massage Therapy can truly be life changing. Over the years, I've worked with clients who've experienced:

  • Relief from chronic pain

  • Improved flexibility & range of motion

  • Less frequent migraines

  • Decrease in anxiety & depression

  • Improved posture

  • Relief from sciatica

  • More restful sleep

  • Faster recovery from injuries/ surgery

  • Decrease in symptoms related to Carpal Tunnel syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Plantar Fascitis, Multiple Sclerosis, chemotherapy & more!

What can I expect when I come in for my appointment?

Awesomeness! But, seriously... first off, I recommend arriving at least 5-10 minutes early for each appointment. For your 1st session, you will have to fill out an intake form/ policy disclosure & we will take a few moments to go over your medical history & session goals. Next, I will give you some privacy to undress to your comfort level & lay on the table, underneath the sheet. During the massage, you relax, I work. Afterwards, you will have some privacy to get dressed. We will then discuss my observations, recommendations for home care & future treatments.

What does "undress to your comfort level" mean?

If you want to leave an article of clothing on or take everything off, it's completely up to what feels best for you. As long as you can relax, I have no preferences & can work through/ around clothing if needed. During the massage, only the area I will be working on will be uncovered & then covered again before I move on to the next area.
I DO ask that accessories & jewelry (glasses, necklaces, large rings, etc) be removed so as not to interfere with your massage while I work.

Why do you need to know about my medical history?

In order to safely & effectively assist each of my clients, it is best to disclose as much as you can. Your medical history lets me know what areas may require some extra focus or precautions I may need to take during the session. You can be assured that all of your information is kept secure & confidential.
*If you have high blood pressure, are recovering from recent surgery, sustained an injury in the last week, experienced a heart attack/ stroke in the last year or have blood clots, please get clearance from your primary care provider before booking your appointment.

What if I don't like the pressure/ technique you're using?

If there is anything about the massage that you're not enjoying (pressure, technique, too hot/ cold, face cradle, etc), feel absolutely free to say something & I will adjust accordingly.

What if I don't want a certain part of my body worked on?

Feel free to let me know before we get started! Some people are funny about another person touching their face or feet for example & that's perfectly okay.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather. Should I still come in for my massage?

No, no & no. Please reschedule if you are feeling sick! Not only do we want to minimize the spread of illness, but getting a massage when sick can actually make you feel worse instead of better.

Is it okay if I fall asleep?

If you find yourself feeling a little nap-ish during the session, feel free to snatch those z's right up! Not only will I not be offended, I take it as a compliment!
